Complementary

Complementary a little bolder

Complementary colors are opposite to one another on the color wheel. Use these colors if you want a more dramatic look than harmonious or tonal schemes.

This purple and orange are a great example of how these colors work together to add a great pop of color interest.

Harmonious

A harmonious color scheme is perfect for creating a feeling of tranquillity and peace. To create this look use closely related color hues. As a rule of thumb, use colors that share the same primary color. Harmonious pillows To give you an idea of harmonious colours. I have hand picked this wonderful selection of pillows related to red brown hues.

Tonal simplicity

The tonal look is a simple technique that is very easy to achieve, where you use just one color but in varying tones. Using textures and varying patterns can really help pull the look together, giving more overall interest to the eye.
